New ASeTTS CEO

The Board of ASeTTS has appointed Allison I’Dell as the new CEO. Allison will start her new role on 21 March. Allison brings to ASeTTS extensive community development experience and clear strategic leadership. The Board looks forward to working with Allison and the ASeTTS team in their ongoing work with refugee communities.

With more than twenty years professional experience in the not-for-profit sector at the state and national level, Allison has a focus on strategic social enterprise management and a passion for people. For the past four years, she has been working with a franchisee of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group in Western Australia to develop and implement their community engagement strategy which has successfully built community capacity in the local area, focussing primarily on small, volunteer based groups.

She has worked with more than 150 community groups to strengthen their capacity, skills and financial base to bring change for the future during her tenure and seen the company’s invest more than $500,000 into the local community during that period. Allison has previously been the CEO of Social Entrepreneurs Network Australia, Perth Area Consultative Committee, Swan Valley Marketing Association and the Hospitality and Tourism Industry Training Council. She has worked with the state government on problem gambling policy, and developed and implemented a regional marketing project for the Swan Valley wine region that is now part of the regional branding for the City of Swan.

She is the Chairman of Midland Job Link Incorporated and a member of various not-for-profit boards and committees. She is inspired by people and community development, especially targeting grass roots support for social, economic and labour market participation. Allison has extensive experience with government contract and service agreement management as well as tender, submission and project initiation. In addition, she has presented conference papers and seminars on social enterprise, entrepreneurship in the not-for-profit sector, as well as preparing and presenting written submissions to Senate Inquiries and the Productivity Commission on issues related to social and economic policy, particularly around equity and participation, problem gambling and social enterprise. Allison lives in Midland with her husband and youngest daughter.

She has tertiary qualifications in commerce, with a focus on governance and organisational sustainability.
